| this is going to be a sports post so dont' read if you don't care about it.
first i wanna start off with the nhl. i'm glad its back, before the lockout i was one of the biggest fans of the sport and league. they let me down and i wonder how long it will take for me to get back into the league. first it pissed me off how twice in february they got my hopes up that a season would be played and then cancelled last minute. i also got sick of hearing how the nj devils and defense ruined the nhl. last i checked, majority of the teams in the nhl played some sort of "trap". its an easy way to put the blame on a team. now they are going to do some stupid things to try and get more casual fans to like hockey. first off, i heard they are going to play 4 on 4 for 5 minutes of overtime. then they will go to 3 on 3 for 3 minutes. why don't they just get rid of goalies and play with garbage cans, like i used to in my driveway. that might bring in more casual fans. its stupid, the simplest way to get people into hockey is lowering ticket prices so you can see it live. on top of that, they are adding 4 more teams to the playoffs. a total of 20 teams will make it now. what a joke. the regular season is now even more meaningless.
the nets got shareef abdur-raheem. he is a quality big man and will command attention in the post. along with nenad krstic the nets will have a formidable frontline. throw in one of the best backcourts in the nba and i think the nets have the makings of a team that COULD compete. i still have doubts about all of this. until the nets actually make it to the finals, i will always think more highly about the 2 finals teams with martin, kittles, jefferson, and kidd. either way, i'm pumped about next season. to recap, the nets went from a starting 5 of kidd, kittles, jefferson, martin, and collins to kidd, carter, jefferson, abdur raheem, and krstic. thats a solid rebuilding in 1 season. the nets have rob babcock, the idiotic raptors GM to thank for the quick turnaround. | | |
